Aside from not having easy access to the software, it's also a matter of
resources on our part. We have to draw the line somewhere when it comes
to supporting old versions of software. From what we've seen and been
told, most businesses are on at least Office 2003, which seems like a
reasonable gauge for us given how slow the corporate world is to update.
As I said, we'll certainly consider accepting a patch if someone wants
to work on it, but we cannot do it ourselves. Office 2010 is nearly out
(if not released already), which means Office XP is now 3 versions
behind. I realise that's a nuisance for those still running it, but as I
say, we need to draw a line somewhere.
